Founding Donors To Elbert Memorial Hospital
In 1950, $500 was the total cost to completely furnish a patient's hospital room. A donor who gave this amount was entitled to have a name engraved on a bronze plaque, which was then placed on a room door.
Somewhere through the years, the plaques were removed. They recently were found in a basement workroom and have been proudly hung in the hospital lobby.
