Love Light Tree helps 'Renovate a Room' program

The Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation and Elbert Memorial Hospital Auxiliary co-sponsored the annual Love Light Tree in the Hospital Lobby throughout the month of December. The community was invited to purchase angels for $3 each in memory or in honor of a loved one.

"Giving to the hospital through the Love Light Tree program is a wonderful way to honor or remember a loved one or friend and help others at the same time," said Nancy Seymour, Executive Director of the EMH Foundation. "This year, it was exciting to watch the tree grow with angels and know that each angel added to the tree is a symbol of love and affection for family members and friends. For each angel purchased, the Foundation mailed an acknowledgement letter to those honored or to the family of those memorialized notifying them of the angel donated in their name. Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible.

This year, all Love Light Tree contributions are designated to the Foundation's current "Renovate a Room" campaign. This campaign's goal is to renovate 25 rooms on the Acute Care Unit at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Currently, we have 14 1/2 rooms donated with 10 1/2 rooms to go! Each renovated room costs $10,000, or two donors may share a $5,000 donation. Plaques will be placed on the outside of each room's door. Any size donations will be greatly appreciated.
