Elbert Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
A Tradition of Caring...
The Elbert Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was organized in March of 1970, and has grown ever-stronger through its existence. The Auxiliary is a fully accredited chapter of the Council of Auxiliaries/Volunteers of Georgia.
The Elbert Memorial Hospital Auxiliary:
 Helps supplement the services the hospital provides its
patients.
Helps the hospital and the community better understand
each other.
Helps the volunteer achieve personal satisfaction by
service to others.
Awards monetary gifts at regular intervals for
important hospital projects.
Sponsors several fund-raising events benefiting the
hospital such as the annual Bake Sale, Book Fair and
Uniform Sales.
Membership in the Auxiliary is open to all persons who are interested in Elbert Memorial Hospital, and who are willing to conform to the bylaws and policies of the Auxiliary. New members are required to complete approved hospital orientation.
Gift Shop
The Auxiliary owns and operates a well-stocked gift shop in the hospital.
Gift shop hours are:
Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Spirit of Volunteerism
What can I do?
The Auxiliary serves in three hospital areas - The volunteers staff both the Lobby Information Desk and Patient Floor Information Desk as well as The Gift Shop. They assist with admissions and dismissals and in-house transporting of patients; deliver florals, mail, and newspapers to patients; fill water/ice pitchers and offer juice or beverages to patients morning and afternoon; and deliver doctors' reports. Work shifts are usually two to three hours per week.
The Commitment
The minimum number of hours necessary to maintain service status is twenty(20) hours per quarter. Service hours are totaled at the end of our fiscal year and a service pin is awarded when each five hundred hours are accrued.
Membership Dues and Additional Information:
Annual dues are $10. Members also purchase their own uniforms and shoes.
An Application for Membership can be obtained at the Elbert Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. Please complete all questions, and return the ocmpleted application to the gift shop. The Membership Chairman will contact you by phone with additional information. An applicant must be 18 years or older.
